A brief information about Trelleborgs Budokai and our Martial Arts.

Trelleborgs Budokai originated from Trelleborgs Jiujitsuklubb which was founded in 1975.
During year 2000 Trelleborgs Jiujutsuklubb was united with Trelleborgs Aikikai and the new martial arts Club was founded.Later on  Trelleborgs Iwama Ryu and Trelleborgs Jiujitsuskola also joined in.
We are located in the northern parts of Trelleborg at ”Föreningarnas Hus”, Klörupsvägen 25 where we have our own training facilities covering around 200 m2.

Our Martial Arts at this moment are as follows:

Judo.
Judo originated from different old jujutsu schools/styles and was during the 1880´s transformed by Jigoro Kano into a new school called Kodokan Judo, later on only Judo. It was slowly incorporated in the Japanese society and became a mandatory training for the Tokyo Police Force and the Japanese Army.
After WW2, Judo was forbidden for a couple of years but was back on the school schedule in 1950. During Tokyo Olympics in 1964 Judo was a demonstration event and in 1972 it was elected as an official Olympic Sport.
Today’s Judo has very few of the original Kodokan Judo techniques left and is primarily a
competition sport with rules, points and a busy competition schedule.

Bujutsu
To be called Bujutsu a Japanese Jujutsu school/style must be unchanged since 1868. This is of course a source for discussions and disputes in the martial arts society, but most budokas accept 58 old schools today to be called real Bujutsu.
The training includes old Japanese weapons as Jo, Bo and wooden swords. In Bujutsu some forms of Iaido is performed with real swords.
Our form of Bujutsu is called Hoku Shin Ko Ryu  and follows the Katas from Hontai Yoshin Ryu, from 1673 and Yamaguchi-ha Toyama Ryu, wich Soke Jan-Erik Karlsson 10 Dan  in Lund
Is ouer stylechief.

Ju-jutsu.
Ju-jutsu is the western modern form of Bujutsu adapted to the modern society and our laws and regulations. It is mainly aiming on self-defence but can in some forms be used in competition.
Our style is called Ju-jutsu Kai, and is a Swedish style owned by Svenska Ju-jutsu Förbundet with Soke Hans Greger 10 Dan. We are Swedens largest Ju-jutsu style with around  80 clubs and
7000 members.

Minigrupp.
We have a group for our smallest Budokas ageing 0-9 years. They are mainly playing around but are slowly introduced into the martials arts mysteries, through dropping and self defence tech-niques.
